The writer, on being invited to the home of his politician friend Passos Manuel, travelled from Lisbon to Santarém.

During his sojourn in the country, he described the dazzling landscape of the Ribatejo fields. This trip was to be a source of inspiration for "As Viagens na minha Terra".Located on the 1st floor of the main building, overlooking the ramparts, Roman ruins, river Tagus and its meadowland. It has a four poster double bed, fireplace and fully equipped bathroom fitted with a jacuzzi double bath tub. Old pictures and the writers works are part of the decor.
